    ACM20117 Certificate II in Animal Studies
    This certificate is available as either a VETDSS or Adult program.

    Take the nationally accredited Certificate II in Animal Studies and start your career as a pet groomer or animal attendance in an animal shelter or veterinary clinic. Turn your passion for animals into a career as you gain practical skills and build industry relationships.

    Through theoretical and practical coursework, you will learn to:

    • Provide care to a range of animals
    • Monitor and maintain animal health
    • Practice hygiene and infection control
    • Respond to expectations of pet owners
    • Understand what is required in running a small companion animal business

    Completing this course will provide you with:

    • A nationally recognised qualification at Certificate II level
    • The pre-requisite course to undertake a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
    • Strong foundation to continue your studies

    PROGRAM LENGTH
    TWO YEAR COURSE – VETDSS
    This program is delivered over the course of two academic school years. Weekly classes delivered face-to-face with learning activities completed online.

    6 MONTH COURSE – ADULT EDUCATION
    This program is delivered over the course of 6 months. Classes run twice weekly and are delivered face-to-face with learning activities completed online.


    PATHWAYS
    Students completing this course can continue on to (ACM30117) Certificate III in Animal Studies, (ACM30217) Certificate III in Animal Technology or (ACM40412) Certificate VI in Veterinary Nursing, or undertake work within the animal care industry.

    The delivery mode for all courses at Foundation Learning Centre is via face-to-face and a mix of flexible remote or online learning. Face-to-face is delivered onsite at 1 Malcolm Court, Narre Warren. Student tuition and materials fees as published are subject to change given and individuals circumstances at enrolment. To be eligible for a concession amount, a valid concession card must be produced at the time of enrolment.
    *Approximate Government contribution to Foundation Learning Centre per eligible funded student per contract hour.
