Description

The YPEP is an inclusive and flexible education program designed for young parents balancing study and parenthood. Students can complete either the Victorian Pathways Certificate or the VCE Vocational Major, with the option to bring babies into class. Each class includes a qualified teacher, learning support and wellbeing services. The curriculum is tailored to young parents, incorporating parenting skills, project-based learning, and a focus on employability, problemsolving, and personal growth—all within a supportive environment where both parent and child can thrive.

VPC:

The Victorian Pathways Certificate is a non-senior secondary qualification that provides students with curriculum that is enriching and engaging and supports students in developing the skills, capabilities and qualities for educational and personal success. The VPC is an applied learning program that provides flexibility to meet an individuals needs and prepares students to move into the VCE Vocational Major for years 11 and 12, an Apprenticeship or into the workforce.

At Juniper College, project based learning is the basis of most VPC studies and students learn under close supervision with high levels of direction.

The VPC is delivered as a 12 – 24 month course.

VCE VM:

The VCE Vocational Major has been designed to give young people a greater choice and flexibility to pursue their strengths and interests and develop the skills and capabilities needed to succeed in further education, work and life. It prepares students to move into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education and training, university (via non-ATAR pathways) or directly into the workforce. In the VCE VM at Juniper College, the focus of study is on exploring life and community, with an emphasis on building employability skills, problem solving and developing a sense of competence as a learner.

Project based learning is the basis of most VCE VM studies, where students learning is conducted under supervision and is reasonably self directed in regard to planning and work activities.

The VCE VM is delivered over 2 years, which includes Year 11 level and Year 12 level.
